Hardanger: Cornflowers & Other Flowers

Hardanger: Fiordaliso e Altri Fiori (cornflowers & other flowers) is Volume 10 in Giuliana Buonpadre's collection of instructional and project books on reticello and other forms of Italian needlelace and stitchery.

Following Herbarium (Vol 9), Giuliana explored hardanger embroidery (which is quite similar to reticello), adapting floral elements to this type of embroidery. Fiordaliso is a 70 cm x 70 cm (27.5") sampler involving hardanger and flowers.

In the book, she presents most of the stitches used on the sampler with appropriate diagrams. She illustrates the progress of the sampler with photos.

The book also includes other embroideries illustrated with diagrams and images to help stitchers understand the projects and realize them - or parts of them - in their own embroideries.

The book is intended for those who already know hardanger and who want to experiment and adapt hardanger techniques, incorporating color and other patterns.
